ICAC has updated the Recommended List of Arbitrators

According to the submission of the Presidium of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine (ICAC), the decision of the Presidium of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine “On Approval of the Recommendation Lists of Arbitrators of the ICAC and IAC at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine” dated December 14, 2023 No. 15(2) approved the updated Recommendation List of ICAC arbitrators for 2024 – 2028 years.

ICAC’s Recommended List of Arbitrators includes 115 experienced scientists and practicing lawyers, recommended in the field of arbitration by the authoritative international ratings of Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal, from 38 countries of the world, of which 62% are experts from foreign countries, 38% are Ukrainians.
What’s new?

The geography of arbitrators has been expanded. For the first time, arbitrators from such countries as Egypt, Greece, Israel, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Cyprus, Switzerland are included in the Recommended List of ICAC arbitrators.

The ability to search for arbitrators by specialization has been added. On the ICAC website, it is possible to view the list of arbitrators not only by language and citizenship filter, but also by specialist specialization (18 specializations). In the updated Recommended List, the number of arbitrators for consideration of investment disputes, disputes in the field of construction and IT disputes has been significantly expanded.

Principles of gender equality. ICAC has maintained approaches to gender equality. About 30% of the arbitrators of the updated Recommended List are women. For the past 5 years, ICAC has demonstrated consistent leadership in gender equality according to the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge study.

For reference: in accordance with the provisions of Article 6 of the ICAC Regulations, the Recommended List of Arbitrators is updated every five years.
